The Acupuncture Channel

for acupuncture students, alumni, faculty & friends — sponsored by AIMC Berkeley

Hi, My friend is looking for someone to take my room when I move in a month.  It is real close to school--

The Place:

The apartment is on the 2nd floor of a 3 plex situated behind the home of the
owner. There are hardwood floors throughout, a nice sized living room, one
bathroom and two bedrooms. The bedroom available is smaller than mine, so is reduced.
It’s $640 (includes water). It’s is about 4 blocks
from Shattuck on Carleton St,
an easy walk to Bart or Berkeley Bowl.

Our grad student neighbors are very friendly and respectful.
We share internet with them so we each currently pay about $9/month. I have coffee table, couch and bookshelf in the living room.

There is parking available on the street and the neighborhood is quite safe and lovely. The security deposit is $1250.

Me:

I’m a female contractor in my forties doing database development. I work in Berkeley, Fremont and SF. I’m a bit
of a night owl but I manage most nights to get to bed around 11 or 12. I’m
fairly quiet though friendly and social, pretty green, liberal and basically
regular for Berkeley.

I have a cat named Buddy, a Siamese mix; who’s a love. He likes anyone who will pet him and is an indoor/outdoor cat so there’s no cat smell. I’m
afraid I can’t take any more animals but it would be great if you liked/loved
cats.

My current roommate is leaving to move to Portland; the room will be available
March 1.

So I’m looking for a responsible, easy going and fun housemate. If you are
interested please email me a bit about yourself and we can get together for a
swap of life philosophies and a viewing of the apartment.

Thanks,

Jo

Hi Jo-
My name is Alina and I got to AIMC- the acup. school very near you. My schoolmate Marie and I are looking to share a room for a few nights during the week as we both have homes up in the wine country and would like to not have to drive everyday. So, neither of us would be there during the weekend and then we would be there Monday through Wed. nights. We are both serious students, fairly quiet, in our 30's, and just beginning our acupuncture careers- currently in our 2nd trimester of 10 trimesters total. I will be going back to Sonoma tonight but will be back to Berkeley on Monday afternoon- perhaps we could meet then or Tuesday lunch or evening. Just let me know whatever time works for you.
Thanks,
Alina Sepeda

Hi Alina,
I'm not sure if this would work for my roommate. She would need to get someone on the lease in place of me and would the security deposit still work for both of you?
Let me know -- and I'll keep my ears open for you if this doesn't seem a fit.
thanks,

Hi My:

This is Alina's schoolmate/roomshare person. Can you let us know how long the lease is for?

thanks, Marie

Hi Marie,
Sure, the lease is for one year. But she is open to someone subletting if you help her with it.

thanks,

Hi My:

We can afford the rent and the deposit but are not willing to sign a one year lease. We intend to stay awhile, as we are only T2's, but a one year lease is kindof scary in the event something doesn't work out. If the lease time period is at all negotiable, please let us know.

Hi Marie,

This is Jo. What I would need is the $1250.00 deposit for the six months. I'd like to get your name on a six month lease so I'm not anyone's landlord.

Do you think this is doable? I'd be happy to meet you.

My number is 510-390-1729 and my email address is accessgoddess@yahoo.com. I can't really use this email because it's My's school email so please contact me thru my cell or email.

Thanks!

Jo
