Hi Mathew, I apologize; I didn’t state that well. Matthew was very articulate in his communication with Little Hoover, and I’m sure that’s why he was selected. It’s just unfortunate that they didn’t also pick at least one association rep from CAOMA…

Another historical perspective from the CA professional associations on the CAB/LHC: The AOM profession in CA came under a concerted attack by out of state forces that included a coalition of OM colleges that wanted weaker educational and professio…

Hi Chris, You're right about our LEGAL scope of practice; I was wrong. Laws and regs provide one view, but professional associations provide another. Based on our status as primary healthcare providers and primary treating physicians within the Wor…

Dear Colleagues, ACAOM needs to hear your opinion as part of its discussion on developing the FPD, and to counter the extremist position of the CAN leadership that wants the discussion to stop. Please feel free to use the draft letter below and mod…

The intent of the law was that we be regulated as a primary healthcare profession (not professionals). The CAB, whose job it is to interpret statute and make regulatory law, has decided that we be regulated as primary healthcare providers. Yes, the…

Hi Chris, While you may know RI better than I, in CA we had this discussion about primary healthcare in the late 1990's. It culminated with the CAB asking for a legal opinion from the state, the text of which is again quoted below: "Primary care pr…

Jessica - $20,000/year! While it is a for-profit, I can't believe MCOM is that bad, there must be a story behind it. I think its still a stretch to extrapolate from 1 school's alumni to the entire profession; I'll see what i can dig up. Benjamin

Sara - I agree, that was quite an answer, and not totally unexpected, but the question had to be asked. Benj

Hello,
I have been dealing with my husband's recent diagnosis of Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Base of the Tongue so I let time pass of this complaint. I gave a signed card to my friend Scott Balestreri and when he gave it to the woman at the front desk she was not only indignant but very rude to hm. It was a good thing that Brittany was working that Friday and she told the other woman how we were told in your class to sign the card and the bearer would receive half off on the first visit! I have been an office manager for fifteen years and this is not the kind of behavior that keeps our patients!

Aloha,
I am trying to set up some time with Nathan on a Friday, I think? Before lunch but not too early the other reason I needed more time is to get my cholesterol down at the gym! I am usually at school by 8:30 on T Th also.

Hello,
Do you have my medical terminology credits in my transcripts? I had a nasty reaction to the hepatitis vaccine so I do not think I should take the other two, if it is okay? I am taking the Psycology class now at the community college and that is part of the reason I had to drop Saturday. It requires about 12 hours a week of work and did not go with my AIMC schedule. Silly me, I should have taken it there, but I am in bed before the class is over, so that was a problem as well. Thanks, Laureen

Hi Benjamin!
Suzanne contacted me yesterday regarding class for the next trimester. I do not know when you are in college. Usually I work every day and come to college late in the evening. I will take evening schedule next trimester and may be some Saturday classes as well (depends what classes will be on Saturday). 4: 30 would work for me, but 5 pm would be better, so I can go right after to my class at 6:00 (which is usual time for most of the evening classes). You can also let me know what days afternoon you are in college so I can talk with in person.
Thank you and have a great day.
PS. By the way great family picture! You need to put the rest of the family.
