My current state of mind:
Caught in a tornado of "our" cancer!
My Tagline:
What did you learn today?
Acupuncture education/license level:

My acupuncture story:
I was in a car accident on 4 Oct 06, where I was stopped at a red light on Hwy 37 and the woman behind me in her SUV fell asleep! OUCH! After months of physical therapy and many drugs I begged my PCP to send me to the acupuncturist. That was the best idea I ever had in my whole life! He said, "What good has come of this?" As the bad begins to fade, the good continues to grow.
My favorite modality:
Everything!
About Me:
I have been in all aspects of optical for 15 years and I just passed my National Contact Lens Examiner's Certification to add to my American Board of Opticianary Dispensers Certification and License. I plan to open a chronic pain clinic that I will build on my property in Ocean View, Hawaii when I graduate. My husband is a Certified Massage Therapist. I have two children, a dog, and a fountain that I have been told by an asian neighbor who I never saw before that it is placed incorrectly according to feng shui and I should read books by Lillian Too, and so I did.

Plum Butter

Our organic plum tree had more plums than ever before so after I gave away what I could to my neighbors, I decided to make plum butter! It is still cooking and I am not adding but a bit of organic sugar because my husband is a diabetic. So we will see how this does. I have about six quarts right now and it will lose about a quart of fluid by the time it cooks down. If this goes well, I will buy the leftover fruit (not all of it!) from the Farmer's Market as I heard them say they had to throw out… Continue

Sorry to hear about the front desk experience. It sounds like some of our staff are a bit over-extended; I'll look into it.

Wow Laureen...I am so sorry to hear that. We should talk more in person. I would be better able to talk about foods than point selection. Benjamin would be much better to talk about point selection. Let's talk though.

Unfortunately, he's 19, so while it would be great if he could pay for my medical bills, my scooter, as well as my pain and suffering, I don't think I would feel right bankrupting him like that. It's weird, although this kid (given his demeanor at the scene of the accident) doesn't seem to feel apologetic about this at all, I would feel guilty if I were to require him to pay several thousands of dollars of my medical bills. I think the biggest part is that I don't have the money to pay for treatment up front, which is why I'm hesitant to go to Prime Care to have my knee x-rayed and MRI'd.

As for the legal owner, he IS listed on the police report, and oddly enough, he lives about two blocks from me. It doesn't seem that that would make much of a difference in the long run, though; at least in terms of paying for my medical bills and such. I wish I knew more about who's responsible for what in this situation; the only similar situation I can relate to was when I was in an accident with my parents about eleven years ago, but we were hit by a company truck, and their company settled out of court. But the company's insurance is what gave us our money, so all in all, my situation really isn't comparable.

Also, I appreciate the offer to pick me up, but I can't let some jackass kid scare me away from riding the scooter I've dreamt of having since I was 13. Thanks so much for the offer, though =]
